It is a rejuvenating herb, helping to balance endocrine functions, including adrenal, thyroid and reproductive functions.
Ashwagandha contains phyto-androgens, which are precursors to reproductive hormones and supports reproductive health for men and women. Active constituents are slightly sedative in nature and calm the nervous system.
Overall, Ashwagandha helps support a healthy immune system and rebuilds the body’s energy reserves.
"In a world where eighty percent of all disease can be attributed to stress it is not surprising that we are attracted to the Ayurvedic herb, Ashwaganda. This amazing herb neither stimulates nor sedates, it offers a deep rejuvenation to the whole body and mind that no herb has yet to match."
-- Dr. John Douillard, Doctor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Founder/Director of LifeSpa*
Called "Indian Ginseng" Ashwagandha now has the medical community buzzing and studies showing the positive effects of Ashwagandha are cropping up all over. We use only organically grown Ashwagandha root (Winter Cherry) in its pure, revitalizing form. It offers powerful nutritional support to rejuvenate both mind and body, by nourishing the nervous system, minimizing the negative effects of stress, increasing endurance and stamina and fighting insomnia.

A given herb tends to be best from a particular area, like French Highland Lavender. In the case of Ashwagandha, many experts would agree that area would be Bundelkhand. ORGANIC INDIA uses the thickest of the organic Bundelkhand Ashwagandha roots that we grow and process ourselves.
Whole herb: The full spectrum of herbal constituents creates the plant's intelligence, effectiveness and health benefits. It cannot be improved on by extracting one chemical substance.
Certified organic: Potent, pure and effective, 100% certified organic, grown in healthy, fertile soil. No harmful chemicals used ever during the growing, drying or production.
Vegetarian capsules: Did you know gelatin capsules are made from animal parts? They are made from animal by-products, which include cow, horse and/or pig hides and various kinds of connective tissues such as tendons, bones, ligaments, organs and some intestines.
"Commercially, standardized extracts are used offering the consumer a supposedly more potent product. Beware! These extracts concentrate the herb highlighting only one of its many active constituents rendering it more like a drug than a natural medicine. In this process, the intelligence of the herb, the full spectrum of botanical constituents and its therapeutic effect is lost."
