The name Neem possibly arises from Nibandha, meaning “attachment to” and possibly referring to the auspiciousness of being attached to Neem. Also possibly from Nimi meaning “an instant.” Azadirachta ndica is derived from the Persian name of this remarkable tree: Azad Dirakht Sindhu, which literally means the “noble tree of freedom from India.”
Neem leaves 3, soft twigs and flowers (Azadirachta indica) with polyphenol flavonoids like quercetin, sterols like nimbasterol and the very important terpanoid phytoecdysteroids like azadirachtin.
