Osteoseal

Harjor/Cissus is known as Harsankar and Asthisanghara in Sanskrit and has been used for millenia to heal bones and protect the skeletal system during calcium mobilization. This formula supplies some bio-available calcium but perhaps more importantly it likely triggers calcitonin, the thyroid molecule hormone that takes calcium out of blood serum to be more supportive of the skeletal structures, the same mechanism that happens during lactation to protect a mother.

Traditional Uses

Traditional Uses Optimizing & Complementary Products Notes
Bone Heart Guard, Shatavari
This formula is the "boniest" of Ayurveda and Yoga. Its ability to form osteoblasts in a coherent viable structure is great for healing and protecting bone health.
Women's Health Shatavari,Turmeric Many of the same mechanisms by which it heals bones will assist a lactating woman in protecting and rejuvenating her body after the stress of pregnancy and lactation.
Inflammation Tulsi-Holy Basil,Turmeric Especially useful in cases of excessive acidity so assists those seeking more alkaline systems.
Calcium Heart Guard, Shatavari
When calcium is mentioned here it is not that there is a lot of calcium in the formula, but rather this formula is excellent at managing calcium metabolism and functional distribution, both anatomically and physiologically.
Lactation Shatavari
For its ability to manage calcium, this formula is great for lactating mothers.

Name Translation

Many of the traditional names of Harjor, like Harsankar and Asthisanghara, basically mean “Bone Healer.” Shatavari, pronounced “Shat-aa-vree,” literally means the 100 rooted one, and refers to how nourishing, grounding and supportive this herb is. Yogis traditionally eat fresh Shatavari roots daily.
