The holiday season may be behind us, but there’s no reason not to fill your house with the delightful aromas of classic mulling spices–and give yourself an energizing boost and space for calm, too.  Typically, when we think of “mulling”, the next word that comes to mind is wine. Our ORGANIC INDIA Tulsi Teas offer a deliciously non-alcoholic alternative, delivering the warmth and richness of flavors signature to mulled drinks. In line with the luxurious feeling that comes with sipping a cozy mulled beverage, the process of mulling is simple. Just steep any of our teas with fruit slices and spices, strain, and sweeten to taste.

 We’ve highlighted our gorgeous golden Tulsi Turmeric Chai and Tulsi Hibiscus teas here, but feel free to swap in your favorite ORGANIC INDIA Teas. Our teas in tandem with steeped spices deliver such robust flavor, we tend to sweeten at the end, if at all, but you can certainly include maple syrup or another sweetener of choice in the steeping step. Get playful–add fruits like apple slices or lemon peel, vary spice blends, and soak up both the relaxing and energizing rewards.

 Golden Turmeric Chai Mulled Tea

 Serves 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups boiled water
  • 3 ORGANIC INDIA Tulsi Turmeric Chai Tea Bags
  • Fresh orange juice (a squeeze up to ¼ Cup per serving, according to taste)
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 vanilla pod, cut in half lengthwise
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • ½ Tablespoon whole allspice
  • Additional orange slices and cinnamon sticks for serving
  • Maple syrup or other sweetener to taste, if desired

Method:

  1.  Add ORGANIC INDIA Tulsi Turmeric Chai tea bags, fresh orange juice, orange slices, vanilla pod, cinnamon sticks, and allspice in a small to medium saucepan. Pour over with the boiled water.
  2. Let the tea mixture simmer on a low heat, about 10 minutes.
  3.  Strain the liquid, sweeten to taste, and serve with orange slices and cinnamon sticks.

 Hibiscus Twist Mulled Tea

 Serves 2

Ingredients:

  •  2 Cups boiled water
  •  3 ORGANIC INDIA Tulsi Hibiscus tea bags
  •  ¼ Cup pomegranate, tart cherry, or cranberry juice
  •  1 star anise
  •  2 cinnamon sticks
  •  2 cardamom pods
  •  ½ Tablespoon allspice
  •  1 orange, sliced
  •  Maple syrup or other sweetener to taste
  •  Additional orange slices, cinnamon sticks, and star anise for garnish

Method:

  1.  Add ORGANIC INDIA Tulsi Hibiscus tea bags and remaining ingredients through orange slices sticks to a small or medium saucepan. Pour over with the boiled water.
  2.  Let the tea mixture simmer on a low heat, about 10 minutes.
  3.  Strain the liquid, sweeten to taste, and serve garnished as desired.
