"If I had only one single herb to depend upon for all possible health and dietary needs, I would without much hesitation choose Turmeric."
--Dr. David Frawley, Founder of the American Institute for Vedic Studies
Our organic Turmeric formula is made with the purest, 100% organic turmeric, a natural spice that contains curcuminoids, which are phytonutrients with powerful antioxidant properties that fight the damaging effects of free radicals in the body. Fortified with curcuminoid extract and organic ginger, our organic Turmeric supports important blood and liver functions, healthy joints and overall well-being, which is ultimately reflected in a radiant, supple skin.
It is only in recent years that Western scientists have increasingly recognized the medicinal properties of Turmeric. According to a 2005 article in the Wall Street Journal entitled Common Indian Spice Stirs Hope, research activity into curcumin, the active ingredient in turmeric, is exploding. Two hundred and fifty-six curcumin papers were published in the past year according to a search of the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
"I frequently recommend turmeric supplements, and I believe whole turmeric is more effective than isolated curcumin for (healthy inflammatory function)... The bottom line that the therapeutic advantages of turmeric and curcumin are almost too numerous to list."
Dr. Andrew Weil, MD

Curcumin, the "good stuff" in turmeric, is very hard for the body to absorb. Black Pepper or Piperine are often added to increase absoprtion because it heats up the digestive system, but there are better alternatives.
Our Turmeric Formula contains Ginger, which is "hotter" than Black Pepper. Shogaol, which is produced when Ginger is dried, has a Scoville Heat Unit rating of 160,000, compared to Black Pepper which is at 100,000. Additionally, Ginger does not irritate the digestive tract, as Black Pepper can. Finally, Ginger has been shown to have epigenetic properties whose benefits are only beginning to be understood.
Turmeric parallels the actions of: glucosamine, chondroition and arnica.
