ORGANIC INDIA’s core values include a commitment to embrace and promote inclusiveness. In light of current events and the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and so many others, we feel it is crucial to look to these values to guide us in acknowledging and addressing systemic racism, white privilege, and how to work to promote change both within and without.
ORGANIC INDIA rejects violence of all kinds and promotes unity, inclusiveness, and tolerance. Our hearts are with those who take action to shine a light on prejudice and build equitable global social systems in service to the world — and also with those who have experienced tragedy and loss.
We accept the invitation to join our fellow human beings in rejecting malignant cultural norms that have, historically and in this moment, caused our brothers and sisters to be denied dignity, justice, equality — and grievously, life itself.
While addressing the ways in which oppression operates covertly and systemically is a difficult task, it is essential and non-negotiable. Engaging in uncomfortable conversations, listening deeply and carefully, accepting painful truths, holding ourselves accountable, and cultivating a willingness to change are some of the ways we can move toward a better future.
We accept the invitation to join our fellow human beings in rejecting malignant cultural norms that have, historically and in this moment, caused our brothers and sisters to be denied dignity, justice, equality — and grievously, life itself. We understand that the heart is only one part of the equation — action is necessary. From employees to executives to board members, we are educating ourselves, donating resources, and having the difficult and uncomfortable conversations that are necessary to unite and propel us forward. We’re committed to actively taking part in, what we hope to be, a deep shift in awareness and recognition of all systemic oppression, both explicit and covert.
