Gudichi: Nectar of the Gods
Known as one of three “amrit,” or “nectar” plants in Ayurveda, Guduchi is also called “giloy.” Tinospora cordifolia, Gudichi’s Latin name, is known as a “rasayana,” or “rejuvenator,” due to its adaptogenic properties. Guduchi is a climbing, deciduous vine that can often be found growing on mango trees.
Guduchi Body and Mind Benefits
While the entire plant is used medicinally in Ayurveda, the stem is favored for supporting a healthy response to infection by optimizing the body’s immune response. The plant is also valued for supporting cognitive health — one study* reported that Guduchi improved memory and learning functions.
